27th World Othello Championship in Stockholm

Radisson SAS Royal VikingThe official site for the 27th Annual World Othello Championship will be the Radisson SAS Royal Viking in Stockholm, Sweden on October 29 - November 1, 2003.

The Tournament will be hosted by Anjar Co., Palbox Co. Ltd and Alga. The Tournament Director will be Benkt Steentoft, president of the Swedish Othello Association (see Benkt's biography below).

The Radisson SAS Royal Viking Hotel is centrally located and is perfectly suited for the WOC. We will enjoy a separate facility of the hotel, The Södra Paviljongen, for the actual tournament play. In addition to its beautiful facilities, it is only a short distance from Stochkholm Central Train Station, and near many designer shops, restaurants, galleries, the royal palace, the casino, and popular nightclubs. Visit the hotel's official website for more details. For those interested in staying at this hotel, we have reserved a block of rooms at discounted prices. Please refer to the Othello Tournament when making room reservations.

In addition to the cash prizes, Trophies will be awarded to the First through Fourth Place Winners and Team Trophies will go to each member of the winning country. The Champion will have his or her name permanently inscribed in the rotating Othello Trophy, alongside the previous 26 World Othello Champs.

The Welcome Reception will be held at the Radisson SAS Royal Viking Hotel on Wednesday, October 29th from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In keeping with tradition, first round pairings will be drawn at the Reception.

Lunch will be served at the Tournament Site for all players and guests on Thursday, October 30th and Friday, October 31th and on Saturday, November 1st for finalists and working staff.
